James is an AUTO qualifier and one of the few men who can race a Major like it’s personal — because he genuinely believes he can win. He’s got the speed to stay in front groups and the confidence to push pace early, which makes him dangerous in a field where hesitation gets punished.

Phoenix storyline: pace grenade. James isn’t built to sit back and hope. If he feels good, he’ll force the race to be fast from the gun and see who flinches first. That’s risky — but it’s also how Majors get won. If his stations stay controlled, he’s a podium threat. If he gets dragged into messy exchanges early, he’ll need discipline. Either way, he changes the energy of the men’s race the moment he commits. Already qualified for doubles, James is chasing that Worlds solo qualifier spot after disappointing solo races at Melbourne and Hamburg.
