Important Information

• You must bring a physical copy of ID (digital copies/photographs will not be accepted).
• Checking in on behalf of others is not allowed.
• During race weekend, it is only possible to check in on the day you are competing.

At Athlete Registration You Will Receive:

• Athlete wristband
• Venue access wristband
• Ankle strap & timing chip
• Bib number

You will not be able to race without all of the above.

Age group ceremonies for the race weekend will be held after all athletes in each division have competed. If you podiumed, and competed on a weekday, please go to Help Desk with your ID, and you will receive free access to attend the ceremony and collect your flag. Any additional spectators will need to purchase a spectator ticket. Please refer to the ceremony schedule below.

Useful if race weekend produces something more specific than general soreness. Located at Grenzacherstrasse 30 near Wettsteinplatz, relatively close to Messe Basel. Services include sports physiotherapy, medical massage, trigger-point therapy, manual therapy and dry needling. Current regular hours are Monday to Friday, so this is primarily useful for Friday racers or athletes arriving before the weekend.

The renovated indoor complex has a 25 m swimming pool, Finnish sauna, bio sauna, infrared sauna, relaxation area and small fitness area. It operates through the winter season, making it suitable for a February HYROX weekend. Current adult pool admission is CHF 8, with sauna an additional CHF 15.

Best option for a dedicated post-race recovery trip. Located in nearby Rheinfelden. The wellness complex includes indoor and outdoor saltwater pools, an intensive 12% brine pool, whirlpools, steam baths, Finnish saunas, Russian banya, fire-and-ice bathing, relaxation areas and a massage lounge. Massages are available daily, making this particularly useful after Sunday racing.

Basel is one of the easiest HYROX cities to navigate without a car. From EuroAirport, Bus 50 runs directly to Basel SBB railway station in around 20 minutes. From Basel SBB, trams 1 and 2 connect directly to Messe Basel.

Once checked into a Basel hotel, guests receive the BaselCard, which includes local public transport for the duration of the stay. That makes trams the default race-week option and removes most need for taxis.

Messe Basel is also close to Basel Badischer Bahnhof, which is useful for athletes arriving by rail from Germany. For race morning, staying anywhere near a central tram route should keep logistics simple.

Switzerland is part of the Schengen Area, even though it is not in the EU. Many travellers can enter visa-free for short stays, while others need a Schengen visa. Short stays are generally limited to 90 days in any 180-day period, including time spent in other Schengen countries.

Basel is firmly in the premium tier for HYROX travel. Flights into EuroAirport can be competitive from within Europe, and rail access from Switzerland, France and Germany is excellent, but accommodation, restaurant meals and everyday spending reflect Swiss prices. Staying near Messe Basel is convenient but can become expensive during major events, while slightly cheaper options can be found around Basel SBB or outside the immediate exhibition district. Public transport helps contain local costs, particularly because Basel hotel guests receive complimentary local transport through the BaselCard. Overall, this is a higher-spend racecation, but the city's compact layout and exceptionally easy logistics mean athletes can avoid wasting money on taxis or rental cars.
