For visitors, Grab and other ride-hailing services are widely used and often the simplest way to move between a hotel, gym and eventual race venue. Vietnam Tourism also identifies buses, taxis, motorbikes and ride-hailing as the city's main transport options.

Vietnam's entry requirements depend on nationality and passport, so athletes should check the requirements applicable to the passport they will travel on.

Vietnam operates an official electronic visa system, with e-visas available for stays of up to 90 days and for single or multiple entry, subject to eligibility and entry requirements. Athlete tip: Allow enough time for visa processing before travelling and ensure your permitted stay covers any additional days planned before or after HYROX Hanoi.

Hanoi can be relatively inexpensive for accommodation, meals and local transport compared with many HYROX destinations in Europe, North America and Australia.

The main variable for race weekend will be location. A cheap hotel on the wrong side of Hanoi may create unnecessary taxi or ride-hailing journeys, so accommodation value should be assessed once the venue is known.

Street food and casual Vietnamese restaurants also make it relatively easy to keep daily food costs controlled without relying on fast food or hotel dining.
