Racecation Review

Unlike Europe’s cobbled streets or Mexico’s colonial plazas, Miami’s backdrop is all palm trees, neon lights, and Atlantic waves. Post-race recovery flows naturally into beach walks, rooftop pools, or late-night energy along Ocean Drive. For HYROX athletes, Miami Beach is equal parts sweat and style—an event that feels like a celebration from start to finish.

Local Gyms

**HYROX gyms in Miami Beach** South Beach keeps your training on the island, while Midtown, the Brickell area and Coral Gables add mainland options. These gyms support Miami-area athletes preparing for HYROX Miami Beach 2027 on 26–28 March and visitors fitting in a session before they race. **MBFIT — Official HYROX affiliate** South Beach, Alton Road. Coach-led HYROX training combines endurance, functional strength and race preparation, with running sessions in the wider programme. **AIRLAB Fitness — Midtown — Official HYROX Training Club** Midtown Miami. Dedicated HYROX simulation classes sit alongside strength and conditioning sessions aimed at the race stations. This studio uses simulated-altitude training. **AIRLAB Fitness — Coral Gables — Certified HYROX gym** Coral Gables. Coached station preparation and dedicated HYROX simulations let you practise combining strength and endurance. This is a mainland option away from Miami Beach. **Hybrid Lab Miami — HYROX training and open gym** Southwest 7th Street, west of Brickell. Sled lanes, ergs and a strength floor support classes focused on endurance, station strength and race pace, with drop-in and open-gym options.

Local Eats

Miami’s food scene is bold, diverse, and perfect for fueling recovery:

Clean-Eats: Pura Vida – Acai bowls, smoothies, and nutrient-packed salads.
Local Flavor: Versailles – Legendary Cuban cuisine with plantains, rice, beans, and pressed sandwiches.
Quick Bite: Joe’s Takeaway – Casual branch of Joe’s Stone Crab, fresh seafood and light bites.

👉 Vegetarians and vegans do well here too: try Mediterranean spots in Wynwood or vegan cafés in South Beach with jackfruit tacos, grain bowls, and plant-based smoothies.

Recovery Guide

Athletes can recharge Miami-style:

Ocean Recovery: A swim in the Atlantic followed by a barefoot walk on South Beach.
Spa & Wellness: Standard Spa Miami Beach offers hydrotherapy and hammam-style recovery.
Active Stretch: Outdoor yoga sessions at South Pointe Park with ocean breezes.

Public transport guide

Miami transit works but isn’t always athlete-friendly:

Airport → Miami Beach: Taxis and Uber/Lyft are fastest (~25–30 min). Airport shuttles are cheaper but slower.
City Transport: Metrobus and free Miami Beach Trolley service connect the beach with Downtown. Ride-shares are the easiest option on race day.
Tips: Parking in South Beach is expensive—stick with ride-shares or trolleys.

Visa guide

Visa Waiver Program (VWP): Citizens of 40+ countries (including much of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, etc.) can travel to the U.S. for up to 90 days without a visa if they obtain an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) before departure.
Standard Tourist Visa (B1/B2): Travelers from countries not part of the VWP will need to apply in advance for a U.S. visitor visa at a U.S. consulate or embassy.
Passport Requirements: Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay (some exceptions apply under bilateral agreements).

Cost Insights

Miami Beach isn’t cheap. Expect $200–$350 USD per night for mid-range hotels near the race venue, while budget hostels or shared stays may start around $80–$120. Dining varies: Cuban cafés and taco joints offer hearty plates for under $15, while upscale South Beach restaurants easily hit $50–$100 per person. Ride-shares and public transport help keep costs balanced, but overall, this is a 4/5 wallet impact city.
