Relay Briefing:

Paris has a thriving functional fitness and CrossFit community, with plenty of options for HYROX athletes to drop in, sharpen their engine, and get race-ready. Many gyms are centrally located and offer English-friendly coaching, making them accessible for international visitors. Here are the top picks near the Grand Palais Éphémère:

1. CrossFit Louvre (≈10 min drive / 20 min metro)

One of Paris’ flagship CrossFit gyms, known for its international vibe and large open gym space. Offers day passes, English-speaking coaches, and HYROX-style gear like SkiErgs, rowers, sleds, and wall ball targets. Great for athletes wanting to keep intensity high in the lead-up to race day.

2. Dynamo CrossFit Bastille (≈20 min by metro)

Compact but well-equipped box with a strong Parisian community feel. Friendly to drop-ins, offers structured classes and open gym time. Good mix of barbell, cardio machines, and functional kit. Atmosphere is welcoming to travelers looking for both serious training and social connection.

3. L’Usine Opéra (≈15 min metro)

A luxury fitness club blending high-end aesthetics with performance training. While not a CrossFit affiliate, it features sleds, SkiErgs, rowers, and strength equipment. Spa, sauna, and recovery services are available on site — perfect for athletes who want training and recovery in one place.

4. Reebok CrossFit Louvre 2 – Saint-Lazare (≈15 min walk from venue)

Second location of the Louvre franchise, and the most convenient for athletes staying near the Grand Palais. Offers flexible drop-in passes, quality equipment, and a supportive coaching staff. Strong reputation among international CrossFitters passing through Paris.

5. CrossFit Original Addicts (≈25 min by metro)

Well-rounded box with sled space and open gym hours. Popular among locals for its community events and skill-focused programming. English is spoken by some coaches, making it accessible for visiting athletes.

✅ Tip for athletes: Paris gyms are often in high demand, so booking drop-in passes online in advance is recommended — especially during weekends when HYROX events bring a surge of competitors into the city.

Paris food culture is legendary, blending fine dining with quick, fresh options. Athletes will find plenty of energy-rich meals, with emphasis on carbs, fresh produce, and lean proteins.

• Local Flavour: Le Petit Cler – classic French bistro, carb-friendly pastas and protein-rich mains (€€).

Paris makes recovery part of the race-cation magic.
