Visa Guide
Local climate

HYROX Seoul in November falls in the heart of Korea’s autumn—arguably its most beautiful season. Expect cool, dry weather with temperatures ranging from 8–16°C (46–61°F) and minimal rainfall. The city’s parks and tree-lined streets explode with fall colors, offering a stunning race backdrop. Bring layers for chilly mornings and crisp evenings, and enjoy ideal racing conditions under clear skies.

Local eats

Seoul’s vibrant culinary scene offers plenty to fuel your race and recovery. Near COEX, Bongeunsa Temple Café serves healthy teas and light bites amid tranquil surroundings—a perfect spot to recharge. For authentic Korean BBQ, Wangbijib offers premium meats grilled tableside, with options for gluten-free and low-carb diners. Craving quick, nutritious street food? Try Gimbap Cheonguk for rice rolls packed with fresh veggies and proteins. For plant-based athletes, Plant Café Seoul offers delicious vegan meals and smoothies that satisfy post-workout hunger. Seoul’s food scene balances tradition with innovation, delivering flavorful meals that support your HYROX journey.

Racecation review

HYROX Seoul offers more than just a competitive race—it’s an invitation to explore a city rich in history, culture, and culinary delights. After the event, wander through the historic palaces of Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung, shop in the bustling districts of Myeongdong and Dongdaemun, or savor authentic Korean cuisine in the vibrant neighborhoods of Hongdae and Itaewon. The city’s unique blend of tradition and modernity provides an unforgettable backdrop for your race-cation.

Recovery guide

After pushing your limits at HYROX Seoul, recovery options near COEX Convention & Exhibition Center blend modern wellness with traditional Korean healing. The InterContinental Seoul COEX and Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas both feature full-service spas offering massages, hydrotherapy pools, and sauna facilities to ease muscle tension and accelerate recovery.

For a uniquely Korean experience, consider visiting a jjimjilbang — a traditional Korean bathhouse and sauna complex—where athletes can enjoy hot baths, dry and steam saunas, and relaxation lounges. These communal spaces are perfect for recovery, with options to soothe sore muscles and refresh the mind in a social and calming environment.

Nearby Bongeunsa Temple offers tranquil gardens for mindful walking and gentle stretching, providing a peaceful contrast to the intensity of race day. With a blend of high-tech spa services and centuries-old wellness traditions, Seoul supports both body and soul on your racecation.

Hotel Picks

HYROX Seoul takes place at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in the Gangnam district—one of the city’s most accessible and modern areas. Nearby hotel options include InterContinental Seoul COEX and Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, both directly connected to the venue for ultimate convenience. For more affordable stays, consider ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Gangnam or Hotel Peyto Samseong, all within walking distance. With Seoul’s efficient metro system and a wide range of price points, staying close to the venue is both easy and budget-friendly.

Local Gyms

Seoul is one of Asia’s most high-tech, fitness-obsessed capitals. Hybrid training fits perfectly with the Korean love for structure, data, and performance tracking. Expect spotless gyms, cutting-edge recovery tech, and crews who live for progress stats.

  • CrossFit Sentinel – Known for its elite athletes, serious sleds, and a community that blends CrossFit with HYROX intensity.
  • SPOT Gym – Sleek, boutique facility with a conditioning focus and stylish Seoul design.
  • Anytime Fitness Itaewon – Great drop-in option for international visitors in the expat hub.

Korean athletes train with efficiency and precision — intensity is matched by a holistic recovery culture that includes saunas, jjimjilbang (Korean spas), cryotherapy, and mobility sessions.

Cost insights

Seoul delivers high value for money, especially given its size and modern infrastructure. Comfortable hotels near central districts like Gangnam or Hongdae range from $60–120 USD per night. Local dining—kimbap, Korean BBQ, and street food—can cost as little as $5–15. The metro system is cheap, fast, and extensive. Most major attractions, temples, and palaces have low entry fees or are free. While luxury is available, Seoul allows budget-conscious athletes to enjoy culture, nightlife, and tech-savvy amenities without draining their wallets.
